well, i had absolutely nothin' to do with it, but this poster is too cool not to post.

Ninja Sketch!

there i did it!

it aint much to look at but i finally did my NINJA sketch. my buddy Mark (whose blog is linked to the right) suggested i draw some ninjas after he posted some on his blog. hopefully i'll do some more that look better in the future, but for now this'll hafta do. the smaller pix are loose drawings for some freelance work i'm doing.

NYCC !!

This past weekend I managed to drag my buddy Carl down to Manhattan for the 3rd (i think) annual NY Comic Con. I wanted to hit up some editors/publishers in hopes of gaining a few more contacts to send work to, as well as see some friends who were attending.

while i wasnt completely succesful (Con floors are pretty much a no go for portfolio reviews/perusal) i did manage to bug Brian Wood, Will Dennis and Jonathan Vankin. all of 'em work for Vertigo/DC and they were pretty friendly guys if a bit harried. we also stopped by the Archaia Studio Press booth to say hello to Mark Smiley. Mark was great to chat with as usual. hopefully i'll see him again at Free Comic Day (May 3rd!) for our annual drinking session with the crew over at DJ's Comics.
